1. Introduction and Agreement
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Trail Quest website and digital trail platform (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Gridsoft Solutions Ltd, trading as Trail Quest ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a trail, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service following notification of any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. The Service
Trail Quest provides a digital platform through which users may purchase and participate in self-guided walking trail experiences ("Trails") across the United Kingdom. Each Trail consists of a series of GPS-guided waypoints, narrative content, observational clues, and associated digital materials delivered through the Trail Quest web application.
Trails are generated using artificial intelligence systems and third-party mapping data. We do not guarantee that any Trail will be available at any particular time, nor that the content of any Trail will be free from inaccuracies. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
4. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and purchase a Trail. Persons under the age of 18 may participate in Trails only under the direct supervision of a responsible adult who has agreed to these Terms on their behalf.
When registering an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, including where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been breached.
5. Purchases and Payment
5.1 Digital Content
All Trails sold through the Service are digital products delivered immediately upon payment. By completing a purchase, you expressly acknowledge and agree that the Trail is a digital product made available to you immediately upon purchase confirmation, and that you waive any right to cancel the purchase that would otherwise arise under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, in accordance with Regulation 37. You acknowledge that your right to cancel is lost upon commencement of delivery.
5.2 No Refund Policy
All purchases are final and non-refundable.
Once a Trail has been purchased and access has been granted, no refund, credit, or exchange will be provided under any circumstances, including change of mind, inability to complete the Trail, technical difficulties on your own device or network, dissatisfaction with content, or inaccuracies in AI-generated material. This applies regardless of whether the Trail has been partially or fully completed.
5.3 Discretionary Remedies
Notwithstanding Section 5.2, Gridsoft Solutions Ltd may, at its sole and absolute discretion, issue a credit or partial refund only where: (a) a verified technical fault on our platform prevented access entirely and was not resolved within 48 hours of a formal support request; or (b) a duplicate payment occurred due to a verified error in our payment system. Any such remedy is not an admission of liability and creates no precedent.
5.4 Consumer Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded by contract.
5.5 Pricing and Payment Processing
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) inclusive of any applicable VAT. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Gridsoft Solutions Ltd does not store your full card details. Your use of the payment service is also subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
6. Licence to Use Trails
Upon purchase of a Trail, Gridsoft Solutions Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Trail content for your own personal, non-commercial use. This licence does not permit you to copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any Trail content; share access with persons who have not purchased the Trail (except through the official group-sharing feature); use Trail content for commercial purposes; or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
7. Group Sharing
The Service includes a group-sharing feature allowing a purchaser to share access with companions for a single group play session. Shared access tokens expire after 48 hours and are limited to a maximum of 20 uses. Group sharing is intended for genuine group participation only and must not be used to circumvent the individual purchase requirement or to distribute access commercially.
8. Outdoor Activity — Health, Safety, and Personal Responsibility
Trail Quest Trails are outdoor walking activities taking place on public streets, pavements, parks, and other public spaces across the United Kingdom. Participation involves physical exertion, navigation in unfamiliar environments, and exposure to outdoor conditions.
You participate in all Trail Quest Trails entirely at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gridsoft Solutions Ltd, its directors, employees, agents, contractors, and licensors expressly exclude all liability for any personal injury, illness, death, or physical harm of any kind suffered by you or any member of your group arising from or in connection with participation in any Trail.
Gridsoft Solutions Ltd has no control over the condition of public spaces, streets, or landmarks visited during a Trail. You are solely responsible for assessing your own physical fitness and health before undertaking any Trail, and for the safety and supervision of any children or vulnerable persons in your group.
You are strongly advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing, check weather conditions before setting out, carry water and any necessary medication, remain aware of your surroundings at all times (particularly near roads), follow the Highway Code, and inform someone of your planned route and expected return time.
In any emergency, call 999 immediately. Trail Quest cannot be contacted in real time during a Trail.
9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Trail content — including narratives, clue text, historical information, fun facts, waypoint descriptions, and accessibility notes — is generated in whole or in part by artificial intelligence systems. Gridsoft Solutions Ltd makes no warranty, express or implied, that any AI-generated content is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose.
Gridsoft Solutions Ltd expressly excludes all liability for any loss, damage, or harm arising from inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in AI-generated content, including incorrect historical facts, inaccurate landmark descriptions, clue answers that may have changed due to physical alterations at a location, and accessibility information that does not reflect current conditions.
Landmark locations and GPS coordinates are sourced from the Google Maps Platform. Gridsoft Solutions Ltd does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of this third-party data.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Trail Quest platform is the property of Gridsoft Solutions Ltd or its licensors and is protected by United Kingdom and international intellectual property laws. The Trail Quest name, logo, and associated marks are trade marks of Gridsoft Solutions Ltd. You may not use any Trail Quest trade marks without our prior written consent.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gridsoft Solutions Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Where liability cannot be entirely excluded by law, Gridsoft Solutions Ltd's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific Trail to which the claim relates.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by Gridsoft Solutions Ltd's own negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be waived by contract.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in the courts of their home jurisdiction.
